Oral Roberts

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an article from the book God's Generals that I wanted to share.

In August 1936, the East Oklahoma Pentecostal camp meetings were being held in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Oral was to be licensed as a minister in the Pentecostal Holiness church at one of the last meetings. When he arrived, though, his mind was set on far more than that ordination. He was determined he would not leave those campgrounds without personally experiencing the fire of Pentecost. Oral began to seek God with all his heart for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

During one of the evening meetings at the Sulphur, Oklahoma, camp meeting, Oral Roberts cried out to God in prayer, feeling as though he could no longer wait for God’s Spirit to fill him. As the time of evening worship and praise began, Oral opened his mouth to sing and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. He began to speak with other tongues, as the disciples had at Pentecost in the book of Acts. (See Acts 2:4.) He had received God’s anointing to preach earlier in his ministry, but now he was empowered by the Holy Spirit as in the days of Pentecost!

Unity With Jesus Christ

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

A good message from an unknown author.  The spiritual power of unity!

Google commons

On the coming of the Holy Ghost, everyone was sitting down and they were all in one accord.

No they weren’t running around.

No they weren’t dancing around.

No they weren’t shouting around.

They were sitting down, all in one accord.

This is so important to grasp and understand, you don’t “work for” to have the Holy Ghost come onto you (like many charismatic churches teach).

It’s a promised gift from Jesus, Himself when you believe in Him and get baptized in His name.

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4)

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

Baptism In The Name Of Jesus

Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!

Here is a little message about Baptism in Jesus' Name, by John Ochoa.

Baptism in the Name of Jesus

Acts 2:38 KJV-- Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 8:12 KJV-- But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Acts 10:48 KJV-- And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:2-5 KJV-- 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Romans 6:3-4 KJV-- 3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Colossians 2:11-12 KJV--11  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Galatians 3:27 KJV-- For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Matthew 28:19 KJV-- Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Notice how name is singular. Because there was 1 name we had to baptize under.
That Father has a name. That son has a name and that Holy Ghost has a name and it is Jesus. Matthew 28:19 was the commandment given to the apostles and it was fulfilled in Acts 2:38. The bible doesn't contradict itself. You can't pick and choose a verse. No one was baptized in Matthew 28:19 but that instruction Jesus gave to the apostles was fulfilled in Acts 2:38.

John 14:8-9 KJV-- 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Acts 4:12 KJV--- Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Ephesians 4:5 KJV-- One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Act 22:16 KJV-- And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Type Of Pentecost- 2 Chronicles 5

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

This is a Biblical Type as described by William Seymour in 1906, in his book called, "The Azusa Street Papers."

A beautiful picture of Pentecost is seen in the precious Word of God in 2nd Chronicles.

All the work that Solomon made for the house of the Lord was finished; and Solomon brought in all things that David his father had dedicated; And the silver and the gold, And all the instruments put he among the treasures of the house of God.  Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.  Wherefore all the men of Israel assemble themselves onto the king in the feast which was in the seventh month.

That feast was typical of Pentecost.  And all the men of Israel came and they brought up the ark of the Tabernacle of the congregation and all the holy vessels that were in the Tabernacle.  All of this was typical of our consecration and sanctification unto the Lord.

And it came to pass when the priests were come out of the holy place (For all the priests that were present were sanctified, And did not then wait by course; also the Levites which were the singers, All of them of Asaph, of Hemen, of Jerusalem, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having symbols and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, And with them a hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets.). It came to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; And when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and the symbols and instruments of music, And praised the Lord saying, For He is good; For His mercy endureth forever; that then the house was filled with a cloud, Even the house of the Lord. So that the priest could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; For the glory of the Lord had filled the house.

we read here that all the priests that were present were sanctified.  this is typical of Christ's people being sanctified before they receive the baptism with the Holy Ghost.  Dear beloved, we must get sanctified to receive it. Sanctification takes out the disobedience, rebellion and resistance out of our hearts and gives us a pure, clean heart that are Christ may come and dwell in.  Amen. Sanctification is the second work of grace that deals with our original sin.  Sanctification destroys the root and breed of sin and makes us holy.  We know these priests were sanctified, For the Word of God says so.  Also the Levites which were the singers, we're a raid in white linen.  Linen is a type of the robes of righteousness that we read of in Revelation 7:13, "And one of the elders answered and said unto me, what are these which are raid in linen.  Whence came they?  And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest.  And he said unto me, these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.". So the white linen is typical of the precious robes which Jesus gives to us through the sanctifying Blood of the Lamb.

We find that with these singers and white linen we're 120 priests sounding with trumpets, typical of the 120 disciples that were sanctified and in the upper room waiting for Jesus to baptize them with the Holy Ghost and fire.

"And it came to pass as a trumpeters and singers were as one-". This is prophetical as the "one accord" which we find at Pentecost.  O, beloved, I pray that you may wait in one accord for the promise of the Father upon the sanctified and cleanse life.

And when they praise the Lord in unison, The house was filled with the glory of the Lord.  He will fill the room and you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire, and God will give you a new tongue as a trumpet in singing or speaking as he did the 120 on the day of Pentecost.

It is the blood of Jesus that brings fellowship among Christian family.  The blood of Jesus Christ is the strongest in the world.  It makes all races and nations into one common family in the Lord and makes them all satisfied to be one. The Holy Ghost is the leader and he makes all one as Jesus prayed, "that they all may be one."

Holy Spirit Baptism

Holy Spirit Baptism

They Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) moving on people has been around for thousands of years.  We also see it in a limited way throughout the Old Testament.  But the Full Mention of the Holy Ghost in the Bible is found in the first two chapters of the Book of Acts.  That is the contextual epicenter of the subject and al other references must be filtered through those two chapters.
But first, Jesus Christ Himself declared to the disciples that power would be come to them soon.  “And I will send upon you the promise of my Father; but you remain in the city of Jerusalem, until you are clothed with power from on high. (Peshitta Luke 24: 49).
In the first chapter of the Book of Acts, the first apostles of the new church were fill with the Holy Ghost.  “And when the day of Pentecost was fulfilled, while they were assembled together, suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues which were divided like flames of fire; and they rested upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in various languages, according to whatever the Spirit gave them to speak. (Peshitta Acts 1:1-4).
In the second chapter, we find the Plan of Salvation.  “When they heard these things, their hearts were touched and they said to Simon (Peter) and the rest of the apostles, our brethren, what shall we do?  Then Simon said to them, repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of the LORD Jesus for the remission of sins, so that you may receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  For the promise was made to you and to your children, and for all of those who are far off, even as many as the very God shall call.”  (Peshitta Acts 2:37-39).
Later when the Apostle Philip preached to the Samaritans, they believed and were baptized in water, but none of them had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  Peter and John then went down unto them and then they received the Holy Ghost.  “Who, when they went down, prayed over them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.  For as yet it had not come upon them although they had been baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus.  Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. (Peshitta Acts 8: 15-17).
These verses show us a distinction between the baptisms of water and the Spirit.  A further distinction would be shown by the Apostle Paul when he encountered twelve men whom had been baptized in water years ago, but not of the Spirit.  “When they heard these things, they were baptized in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ.  And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke in divers’ tongues, and prophesied.”  (Peshitta Acts 19:5-6).
As I have just shown, if we want to be right with God and receive salvation, after repentance, we must receive both water and Spirit baptism.  The two are completely separate and yet both are completely necessary for our salvation from our sins!
