Slave or a Son

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a little something to think about.

Google commons

I love the story of the prodigal son…. But he didn’t hit bottom. He said my father has “hired” servants at home, while dismissing the other servants his father also had. His father turned to the doĆ»los, (slaves), and said bring the robe, the ring, the shoes, and the calf.

The hired servants received a wage, while the servants, or the slaves, did not. The prodigal was willing to come home, but he wanted to be paid for it. There is a greater calling than a son, and it’s a servant.

We are called to be servants!

Believing Produces Repentance

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Repent - Be baptized - Be filled with the Holy Ghost.

Here is something that I found from an unknown author that I wanted to share.

Google commons

Believing produces obedience:

Jesus said he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. We must conclude that believing produces obedience which leads to repentance in response to the Word of God. You must believe that you need to repent.

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? Rom‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭From this verse we see that believing produces obedience. If you believe, you’ll obey.

Google commons

Obedience leads to repentance and baptism:

Jesus said he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Believing produces obedience which leads to repentance in response to the Word of God. John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, Apostles Peter and Paul all preached first to repent - believing comes first of course because the hearer had to believe before they could obey the need to repent.

Believing is powerful, setting in motion a chain of events that leads to salvation. Believing activates faith. Believing opens up revelation. When you believe, you’ll obey.

The only prerequisite it seems to be baptized is to believe with all of your heart. But that’s not just a believing heart, but a repentant heart. The eunuch asked If he could be baptized, Phillip responded, “if you believe with all of your heart you may.” Believe what? What Phillip just explained to him. He preached unto him Jesus. When you preach Jesus, you preach repentance, you preach baptism, and you preach being filled with the Holy Ghost. Faith without works is dead.

We are begotten by the Word and repentance is the first response after believing. Repentance is powerful, but not complete without being baptized, yet powerful enough to prepare one to receive the Holy Ghost.

Part of the response to the gospel is this: Jesus now commands all men everywhere to repent. I believe when men believe and obey that command, which is inextricably linked with baptism, revelation and real change takes place.

Repentance is a commandment to be obeyed as well as a response to the Gospel. Conversion is repentance and baptism. While one can receive the Holy Ghost before baptism, but not the Holy Ghost before repentance, baptism is the NT circumcision which completes the conversion that began with repentance.

Repentance begins the process that isn’t completed until one is baptized - putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by being buried with Jesus Christ in baptism - yet one can receive the Holy Ghost before this takes place - which to me is a beautiful picture of grace - it doesn’t mean someone is sinning while being filled with the Holy Ghost - but while those past sins are still present and not yet washed away - you can be filled with the Holy Ghost.

If you haven’t repented, you’re not ready for baptism. To repent is to want to be baptized. It’s why Paul asked the believers how were you baptized. Catch this: Paul knew that believers would be baptized. He just didn’t know how they were baptized. Believing and baptism goes together like peanut butter and jelly.

To repent is to make a conscience choice to turn around from the direction one is headed. To repent is to change one’s mind for the better, to heartily amend with abhorrence of one's past sins.

When you repent, you are biblically ready to receive the Holy Ghost, but you must be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Google commons

The Gospel is good news:

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: and that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: after that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭15 -  This is the gospel.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:

Google commons

God gives the Holy Ghost to them that obey Him:

And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. Acts‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭

This prophecy by Joel as told by Peter would be fulfilled starting in Acts 2:4 - before Peter started preaching

Jesus was crucified, buried and rose again. That’s the good news. That’s the gospel. Not only did He rise again, but he was seen of many witnesses, 1, 12, and over 500 at one time.

Acts 2:23-24 - Jesus was crucified and rose again just as it says in 1 Corinthians 15. And that’s good news. That’s the Gospel. You obey it by believing, and you believe it by obeying.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts‬ ‭2:38‬. ‭

Money Changers

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a little food for thought.

Google commons

Jesus, in Mark 11, went into the temple, "He overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of them that sold doves.

Why would He word it in that format. Why not say, He overthrew the tables and chairs.  NO , He
deliberately separates the two. Why did the money changers have no seats? Why did the people who sold doves not have tables?

WELL... the money changers are pastors, we need to be in ministry for the right reasons. The dove is symbolic of the Holy Spirit! The congregation has no table, only a seat, selling the Holy Spirit SHORT, in their lives. Unless we intervene. "When does the football game start, I wish the preacher would stop talking" Ever hear those words?

Correction Of Your Children

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a message about disciplining your children that I wanted to share.

Google commons

King David was good at many things, correcting his children? Not so much. At least not when it came to Adonijah. The Bible says he NEVER corrected him.

No wonder he assumed a kingship that wasn't his. When he did that, Solomon his half brother, had mercy on him, and told him to go home. He didn't recognize mercy when it was given. Adonijah then asked his mother, to ask Solomon, to give Abishag to him.

This was the most beautiful woman they could find who was sought throughout all the coasts of Israel to bring King David comfort when he was dying. David knew her not. Now she belonged to Solomon. Don't try and take what belongs to the King.

Google commons

Adonijah had never been corrected in his life, and now he would pay with his life.

His mother said to Solomon, "I have just one request son, and don't tell me no." He said, "mom I won't tell you no. Give Abishag to your brother." King Solomon said NO!

King Solomon said Adonijah will die today for this request. Solomon sent Benaiah to kill him.

Parents, you endanger your children and their future when you don't correct them. Correcting them is loving them. Adonijah was presumptuous, a spoiled brat and a manipulator. It didn't work with the King!

That's why God disciplines His children, so that we grow up to be like Christ, instead of Adonijah.

History Of Isreal

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a nice article that I found that I wanted to share.

Like a beacon, Israel reappears as God promised Israel,  over and over, time tested God’s land ; wars will come and go but Israel stands!

Israel, to the day of the Lord's return, Daniel 7 year peace deal, Three and a half years the Antichrist breaks the deal ; when Lord returns as promised, Israel stands forever and the city of Jerusalem.

Israel is like a countdown clock in prophecy awaiting!  The land of Israel has been populated by the Jewish people since 2000 BC. Here's the timeline, in case you didn't realize that it is their homeland, as designated by Yahweh.

1900 BC:
- Abraham chosen by God as the Father
   of the Jewish Nation.
1900 BC:
- Isaac, Abraham's son, rules over Israel.
1850 BC:
- Jacob, son of Issac, rules over Israel.
1400 BC:

   and back to Israel.

   first temple structure in Jerusalem

Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of
   Judah.

After that, the people were captives to the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Crusaders. Through all of these events, the Jewish people continued to live in Israel. There were more or less of them, depending on the centuries, but there was never a time when the Jews didn't live in the land. They stayed, they built their communities, they raised their families, practiced their faith and they suffered at the hands of many outside rulers, but they always kept their faith. It is what sustains them, even now.

May 1948:
- the UN established the State of Israel,
   the nation of Jews.

Don't buy the Palestinian lies that they are entitled to the land. It simply is not true. Yahweh will also provide a way for his chosen people to live in Israel, as He has for thousands of years.

Baptism In Jesus' Name

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an article by an unknown author that I wanted to share.

Google commons

BAPTISM in JESUS NAME - the verses containing every tense of the word baptize are listed below.

Four-hundred years of silence was broken when Gabriel announced the birth of John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus Christ. Six months after John the Baptist was born Jesus would be born. The entire Old Testament foretold of Jesus Christ the Savoir of the World. The Lamb slain from the foundation of the World would soon die on the cross for all of humanity.

The Last Words of Jesus - post resurrection- as recorded in the Book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and Acts.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name "OF" the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mark 16:16 He that believeth AND IS baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Between Mark 16:19 and 16:20 The Day of Pentecost took place!

Google commons

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and REMISSION of sins should be preached in HIS NAME among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Notice in verse 37 that EVERY APOSTLE WAS ASKED WHAT SHALL WE DO? BUT only Peter lifted up his voice.

Act 2:37-38 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the REST of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST for the REMISSION (JESUS said in Luke 24:47 that repentance and remission of sins would be preached in His NAME) of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Google commons

Act 10:46-48 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, 47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the NAME OF THE LORD Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the KEYS of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Please note that it was Peter that first preached salvation to the Jews in Acts chapter 2 and It was Peter who preached it first to the Gentiles in Acts Chapter 10. He was given the KEYS to the kingdom of Heaven. Countless Others would preach the same message but he was the first.

Act 19:3-5 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard [this], they were baptized in THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.

Google commons

Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] ALL in the NAME of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

In Acts 18 Apostle Paul Says Apollos only knew the baptism of John. In Acts 19 having met disciples of John.  Paul "re-baptized" them in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Jesus said "He that Believeth and is baptized shall be saved"

Acts 8:12 When they believed they were baptized

Acts 18:8 When they believed they were baptized

Acts 16:14 When Lydia attended to the things spoken by Paul she and her household were baptized

Paul said I am willing to die for the NAME of Jesus
Act 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

We are washed, sanctified, justified by the NAME
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Google commons

The Name of the Father is Jesus. Jesus said I come in my father's name. He said he was given his name by inheritance.

John 5:43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

Heb 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost baptism is a powerless tradition. Casting out devils must be done in the name of Jesus Christ. You cannot cast out devils in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost nor can you wash away sins by those titles. Remission of sins only takes place by the Name of Jesus Christ.

Act 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
