You Failed To Pay The Price!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

YOU FAILED TO PAY THE PRICE

A. A. Allen/Google creative commons

By the fall of 1949, the Allens began to hear stories about miraculous healing meetings that were taking place. The evangelists conducting the meetings weren’t necessarily outstanding preachers. In fact, many preachers were more eloquent in their sermon delivery than these evangelists, but when these healing evangelists prayed for the sick, miracles happened so quickly, no one could count them. The Allens refused to believe half of the stories they were told, but their curiosity was certainly aroused.

One day, a friend gave Allen a copy of the publication The Voice of Healing. After reading it, Allen said, “As I read its pages, I laughed in ridicule. Fanatics, I thought, as I closed the magazine and laid it away in my study.”  Some of his church members came from these tent meetings with glowing reports, but Allen discounted them and felt they were drifting into fanaticism!

Personally, I don’t believe that was his true heart in the matter. He might have spoken those words, but I believe he was incredibly stirred inside, because he knew this was his own call being manifested before his very eyes.

However, it is possible to become so backslidden in one’s calling that the things one once held as precious and attainable are now a distant memory? Not long after this, some minister friends persuaded Allen to go to Dallas and attend an Oral Roberts tent revival. Along the way, he remembered the experience he had with God in his prayer closet many years ago, recalling the thirteen things that stood in his way of walking into the miraculous. Being out of his spiritual office and trying instead to be a pastor had caused him to shelve the vision God had given him.

As he approached Dallas, he became more and more aware that there he would witness the very thing God had called him to do. “But I had never paid the price for God’s miracle-working power in my life,” he added.

He was captivated by the tent meeting and by the power of God being displayed through Roberts, feeling as though he was living in the book of Acts. Miracle after miracle took place as he watched, but it wasn’t fanaticism; it was God’s miracle-working power.

As he sat watching the prayer line, he again heard the voice of God say, “My son, eleven years ago you sought My face.... Eleven years ago I called you into the same ministry.... But you failed to pay the price and to make the consecration. Therefore, you have failed to do this thing which I have called you to do.” With tears streaming down his face, Allen lifted his hands and cried out, “Lord, I’ll do it!”

GOING, GOING, GONE!
Two Sundays later, he resigned from his pastorate. He would have left the first Sunday after his return, but his wife asked him to wait and make sure he was doing the right thing.
Immediately, pastors from all over the nation called for his services as an evangelist, and in less than a month, a new pastor occupied the pulpit!

The Allens kept the Corpus Christi, Texas, church as their home base and traveled out from there.
They moved all their possessions into a house trailer, and in less than three months after his “breakdown,” A. A. Allen was on the revival trail!

Allen began studying the list of thirteen requirements the Lord had given him eleven years earlier. He couldn’t believe all the time that had been lost. Eleven years! As he studied the list, he noticed that numbers twelve and thirteen had not been accomplished in his life, but that every other item had been marked through. Finally, with great determination, he was able to mark through the last two. After that, noticeable miracles began to take place through his ministry!

In May of 1950, Allen sent his first report to The Voice of Healing magazine, the result of a great campaign in Oakland, California. Of the meeting, he wrote, “Many say this is the greatest revival in the history of Oakland.... Night after night, the waves of Divine Glory so sweep over the congregation that many testify of being healed while sitting in their seats.”

In 1951, Allen made a great leap. He decided to purchase a tent and advertise himself as a “healing” revivalist. He heard of a tent for sale, equipped with lighting, seats, a platform, and a public address system, all for $8,500!

But he had only $1,500, so he called the minister and made the offer of $1,500 as a down payment. The owner told him that another preacher had just called and offered the full price, but he would pray about the matter and call him the next day.

The next day, when Allen called the man, he wasn’t surprised to learn that the owner had decided to give the tent to him with a $1,500 down payment. The rest was to be paid in $100 payments, as Allen could afford, so the tent was his! On July 4, 1951, the A. A. Allen Revival Tent went up for its first campaign, in Yakima, Washington!

A Prayer For A Wife

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is one of my true stories about my life that I wrote for Quara.

Google commons

The week before I kneeled on a lime green chair, praying that God would send me a wife.

Fast forward a week. I was sleeping in bed when I was awakened by the sound of water dripping in my living room! I got up and saw a steady stream of water dripping in the middle of my living room!I got dressed, ran downstairs to the Ladies dress shop. The landlord owned the shop. She was older Belgian woman and couldn't speak English, so I motioned her to go upstairs with me.

We went upstairs and showed her the dripping water from the ceiling. The landlord ran downstairs to call a plumber (pre-cell phone era). I ran upstairs to find out what the tenant was doing above me. A young Belgian lady answered the door in a bathrobe, just a bathrobe!

She had basic English skills, but she said that she was taking a shower. I asked her to stop and motioned her downstairs. She put on some clothes and met me and my landlord downstairs in my apartment.

My landlord, and this young lady were speaking Dutch a mile a minute with me just standing there. Finally the young lady, named Marie-Josee, said the plumber was on the way to check out the pipes. The last person that rented the apartment upstairs was a friend of mine. We both were United States Airmen at the local airbase. He had paid to have the shower installed. So I knew that it was brand new and worked great.

Later that afternoon, my landlord, her daughter, Marie-Josee, and the plumber met in my apartment. The daughter could speak excellent English. They were all speaking Dutch to each other.

That's when I had an out-of-body experience! My soul rose above my body and I was looking down. I was hovering near the ceiling. I had tunnel vision, looking down at myself praying on that chair the week before, praying for a wife!

After a few minutes my soul returned to my body. I was sweating profusely! Everyone around me was staring at me like I was a freak! Finally the landlord's daughter explained that the plumber pressure tested the pipes and found nothing wrong! This was impossible due to the amount of the water that leaked.

She said that if it leaked again to let her know. The plumber shrugged his shoulders, and they all walked out. Except for Marie-Josee, who stay behind. I know immediately in my spirit that God provided a miracle of a spiritual experience to tell me that she was the wife He sent in answer to my prayer!

When it's His Will

Hello everyone,. Praise the Lord!

WHEN IT'S HIS WILL

Google creative commons

We met an American at secret church here in San Sebastian, Spain. She is a young lady from Colorado. Her name is Sheila. I had thought that she was Hispanic, but her mother was from Switzerland and her father was a black American.

Back in Colorado she was putting out job applications and praying for God's guidance about her future. She was an English teacher. The answer to all of her job applications was, "no." Every company and school turned her down. A closed door is an answer.

But so is an open door.  Suddenly, out of nowhere, she received a phone call. It was someone from Spain! The person on the other end said that they wanted her to work for them! They said that they were looking for someone just like her to teach English there in Spain!

After praying about it, she felt that the Lord wanted her to go. Her mother, and others, said it was a good idea. She agreed to the job. They even paid for her to fly there. After getting there, and before her first paycheck, her money was getting low. She realized then that she was alone and scared. She couldn't even speak Spanish!

She went to the bank to withdraw some of her last of her money, and out of the blue, someone approached her in the lobby....

A young lady walked up to her in the bank lobby, and said that she was going to give her some money! Then an older lady walked up to them, she was the mother of the first one. She said that she also wanted to give her some money!

The mother and daughter were complete strangers and seemingly came out of nowhere! They gave her all the money she needed to get by until her first paycheck came in. Only God could have done that!

We agreed and rejoiced that the Lord will meet our needs when we step out in faith!  When it's His will, it's His bill. She has now been there for over two years, speaks good Spanish now, and is active with her church.

The Grantham Miracle

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

I WENT TO THAT VILLAGE UNNOTICED BUT…

I had many telegrams to go to a place near Grantham, to a young man who was very dangerously ill. After I arrived at Grantham I had nine miles to go by bicycle. When I came to that farm house that afternoon a woman at the door asked, “Are you Wigglesworth?” I replied, “Yes.” She said, “I am sorry to say that you are too late. My son is beyond anything being done for him now.” I answered, “God has never sent me anywhere too late.”

I asked if I could see the young man. He lay in his bed with his face toward the wall and whispered that if he was turned over he would die, for his heart was so weak. “Well,” I said, “I’ll pray for the Lord to strengthen you.” In most of my work in those early days I used to pray much and fast. I knew that this case was beyond all human hopes, and so I lay awake most of the night praying. I got up very early the next morning and went out to an adjoining field to pray, for I was very much burdened about this case. There in that field God gave me a revelation that this had to be something new in my life.

I went into the house and asked them to put their son’s clothes to air because the Lord would raise him up. In that part of England the climate is very damp, so I knew it would be necessary for them to put his clothes before a fire before he could wear them. But they did not believe and so did not do anything about his clothes.

That was Sunday morning and I knew that there was a service at the Primitive Methodist Chapel. I went to the service and was invited to take charge. Through the word of the Lord, faith was planted in the hearts of all those people, and then something happened! They all knew that young man by name, and they all said, “Matthew will be raised up!”

Grantham (Google Commons)

That led me to see that faith could be created in others just as it had been created in me, and I went back to that house and said, “Have you put his clothes to air?” I think they were a little ashamed that they had done nothing, so they got out his clothes and put them before the fire.

Then I went into the room and told the young man the vision I had, and said that something would happen different from anything that I had experienced before. I said, “When I place my hands on you the glory of the Lord will fill the place till I shall not be able to stand. I shall be helpless on the floor.” I went out and got his clothes, and said to one of the household, “All I want you to do is put his stockings on him.”

Why I had asked them to put his stockings on is a mystery. His legs were like those of a skeleton and I saw his helplessness, and knew that a miracle would have to be performed. After this member of the household had put the stockings on the young man I said, “Now you can leave the room.”

Grantham (Google Commons)

They shut the door. I think it is a very important thing to have the door shut, when you have a case like this to deal with, for then you know that you are just shut in with God. I prayed for the vision to be made good, and instantly, the moment I touched the young man, the power of God filled the room and was so powerful that I fell to the floor. My nose and my mouth were touching the floor and I lay there in the glory for a quarter of an hour. All that while Matthew in the bed was shouting, “Lord, this is for thy glory! This is for Thy glory!” the bed simply shook, as did everything in the room, by the power of God.

Matthew’s strength, his life, and his heart (which was considered the weakest thing about him) were all renewed. I was still on the floor in the glory when he arose from his bed and began to dress. After he was dressed he began to walk up and down the room shouting, “I’m raised up for Thy glory! I’m raised up for Thy glory!” Opening the door he shouted, “Dad, God has healed me. I’m healed!” The same glory filled the kitchen; the father and mother fell down; and the daughter who had been brought from the asylum and whose mind was still affected was made perfectly whole that day.

That whole village was moved and a revival began that day. I went into that village unnoticed and unknown, but when I left all the village turned out and shouted, “Please come back, please come back, and stop with us longer next time.”

Lung Cancer Healed!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an article from an unknown author that I wanted to share.

Text: Isaiah 53:5; James 5:16

In 1953 in Grimes, Iowa, Violet Cross was getting sicker by the day! Finally her eldest son Frank insisted she go to the doctor. Eventually they ended up at the large teaching hospital in Iowa City. The diagnosis was devastating. Though Violet had never smoked she was dying of lung cancer. One lung was already gone the other was rapidly being devoured by the malignancy. The doctors sent her home offering no real hope, six months of pain would ultimately lead to her death.

That Sunday violet went down to kneel at the altar at the tiny church pastored by her son-in-law, Clarence Lautt. There in Grimes Gospel Center she begged God for one thing. Her two youngest daughters, Kay and Linda were still in high school. "Please God," she prayed, "Let me see my girls finish high school."

Her husband Eddie bought her the engagement ring that he hadn’t had the money to buy 30 years earlier, expecting that to be one of his final acts of love toward her. But Violet started feeling better. Kay graduated from high school, and her mom was back on the farm doing chores again. Linda graduated from high-school. Both girls married. Grandchildren were born. In fact, 18 grandchildren were there to help celebrate Violet and Eddie’s 50th wedding anniversary.

In 1976 Violet came to live at my house after my grandfather Eddie passed away. When I was 12 years old, 38 years after the doctors had given her 6 months to live, Grandma Cross’s two healthy lungs breathed their last.

Sometimes God performs miracles simply because he loves us and he has compassion on His children.

Jesus Must Be the Center

Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!

Here is a wonderful message that I read from another source, and I would love to share it here.

In any true and pure move of the Holy Ghost, Jesus will always be THE CENTER.
Healing cannot become the message.
Deliverance cannot become the message.
Prosperity cannot become the message.
Tongues cannot become the message.
Spiritual warfare cannot become the message.
Signs, miracles, and wonders cannot be the message.

THE MESSAGE MUST REMAIN CENTERED AND FOCUSED UPON JESUS.

He is the foundation.
He is the absolute TRUTH.
He is the measure of all things.

When it becomes about deliverance, prosperity, prophecy, and theology, though wonderful, we begin to WANDER.
