Pushing Death Away

 Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Pushing Death Away

I was at a warehouse for my work, and I started talking with a guy there.  He had asked me if I had ever seen a ghost. I told him I'd have been a hospice volunteer for twelve years, and have seen one, and been with others who have seen them.

He told me several ghost stories that he was told about his family.  One was about his uncle who was dying of cancer.  This took place years ago while they were still in Mexico City.

Juan’s uncle was sick with cancer and was bedridden for many months while he was struggling with the disease.  One day he and his aunt were walking into the room, and they saw his uncle pawing in the air with both hands!  Kind of like a cat pawing at something.

His wife asked him what he was doing pawing in the air like that?  He replied that there’s a young woman here to take me away to death!  And I am not ready to go!  His wife asked him who was the young woman. He said that he did not know who she was, but she was trying to grab his arm to take him to death!

As she reached for his arm he would try to push her away.  Because she did not exist in the physical world, it looked like he was just pawing in the air!  Juan said that his uncle died a week later!

Our discussion then turned to people not dying alone, and actually having some type of spiritual guide that takes you away into the next life.  I informed him that as a hospice volunteer for the last twelve years many of my patients would have spiritual people come and visit with them before their death.  That gave him a lot of reassurance. [1]

Grave Robbery!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

In 1705, there was a woman in Ireland named Marjorie McCall. She had been praying for two young men, who lived down the road, next to their little village. She was praying for their salvation.

But one day Marjorie got sick and caught an illness. She had a very high fever and soon died.  Her family was afraid that her illness would spread to the townspeople, so they buried her very quickly in the village cemetery.

A few days later two grave robbers came to dig up the newly buried corpse, to see if there is anything of value in the coffin.  The dug out Marjorie's grave, opened up a coffin, and to their surprise and joy discovered her wedding ring was  still on her finger.

They tried and tried to pull the ring off but her finger was too swollen, and the ring would not come off! So they decided to cut the ring off! The person was dead, so they thought, what would it matter?

As they maneuvered the arm out of the coffin, so that they can cut the finger off, Marjorie started moaning and moving!  The two grave robbers saw this, and was terrified, and quickly ran away.  It appears that Marjorie was not dead after all,  but was just in a coma from the illness!

Marjorie got out of the coffin and slowly walked back to her home. She knocked on the door, her husband and children were inside the little house. Her husband said if it wasn't because we just buried your mother, I would swore that was her knock! He opened the door and saw his "dead" wife standing there!

It took a few more weeks for Marjorie to recover from her illness. But when she did, she went straight to church and found out those two young grave robbers had been saved and sanctified.  Her prayers had been answered!

Marjorie lived a long life afterwards, and even had another child. Seeing your prayers answered, and in your presence, is very exciting but you gotta be careful what you're pray for!

A Dead Man Saves Many!

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

One stormy night in 1910, a group of traveling musicians arrived at the city of Riga in Latvia to fulfill a concert engagement.  However it was raining heavily and the weather was very bad.  The conductor of the orchestra tried to cancel the concert so that they could catch the next boat to go to Helsinki, Finland.  The Manager of the concert hall refused to cancel but he agreed that if no one came to the concert, then, they could cancel it.

When the musicians arrived at the concert hall they found only one person sitting in the audience… he was a stout old man who seemed to smile at everyone.  Because of this one old man, the musicians were forced to play the entire concert and were unable to leave early to catch the boat.

After the concert was over the old man who was their only audience continued sitting in his seat.
Thinking he was asleep, an usher nudged his shoulder.  Only then was it discovered that the old man was dead.  The musicians had played the entire concert for a dead man!

But, ironically, in doing this they had actually saved their own lives because the boat that they would have taken to Finland sank that very night with a complete loss of life!

Through Adam’s one act of disobedience, death came to us all.  But because of Christ’s life of perfect obedience… which led Him to die on the cross for our sins…life may come to us all!

Have you accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation?

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

The Plan of Salvation is found in the Book of Acts 2:38: Repent, and be baptized for the remission of your sins, and you will receive the Holy Spirit by speaking in another language. Acts 2:38.
