Flattery Will Get You Nowhere

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

FLATTERY WILL GET YOU NOWHERE.
- Rick Joyner

Flattery is one of the most deadly tactics of the enemy, intended to divert a church or work from God's will. Prophets who have fallen into witchcraft through self-promotion will often be used by the enemy in this way. They will divert you from the course by prophesying that which is much more grand or appealing than what God has called you to. In this way the heart and the resources of the ministry will be sidetracked, and usually devastated by failure.

Beware of those who try to gain influence by prophesying grandiose visions. Receive such words only from those who have nothing to gain by sharing them, or whose integrity has been fully established, never from those who are trying to establish themselves. Prophets of extraordinary gifts and authority in this century have themselves been tripped up by others who prophesied to them that they were greater than they were, or were called to do things greater than they were called to do.

On the day of judgment we may find that this form of witchcraft was far more devastating to the church than the attacks from.cults, New Age, and all of the other false prophets combined.

It is very easy to discern false prophets who are from cults, but those who are in the church, who may be genuine believers, are much harder to distinguish. Yes, a true believer can still be a false prophet. We are false in any ministry that we presume without a commission from God.

Prophetic authority cannot be established through any other credentials. Letters of recommendation do have their place, but we should question anyone who tries to establish spiritual authority by what school they attended, the diplomas they have, or whose ministry they have sat under. Also, beware of those who are always telling stories of their own prophetic exploits. At best, this is evidence of immaturity.

Those who are the real thing have kept company with God and His angels enough that they will not care very much about who else believes in them. If we are going to be free of the traps set by false prophets we must start recognizing self-promotion and rejecting the ministry of those who use it.

All About Satan

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

ALL ABOUT SATAN.

What do the Scriptures say regarding Satan's nature and character? The biblical names given to Satan reveal his nature, character, and also show his realm of authority on this earth.
- Adversary: “... your ADVERSARY the devil...walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8).

- Thief: "The THIEF cometh...to steal, and to kill, and to destroy ..." (John 10:10).

- Murderer and liar: "Ye [the scribes and the Pharisees] are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a MURDERER from the beginning ...he is a LIAR, and the father of it" (John 8:44).

- Accuser of the brethren: “... THE ACCUSER OF OUR BRETHREN is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night" (Rev. 12:10).

- Deceiver "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which DECEIVETH the whole world ..." (Rev. 12:9).

- Angel of light: "... for Satan himself is transformed into an ANGEL OF LIGHT" (2 Cor. 11:4). As a deceiver, Satan transforms himself into an angel of light.

- The prince of this world: "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD be cast out" (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:8,11).

- Prince of the power of the air: “... in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR, THE SPIRIT that now worketh in the children of DISOBEDIENCE" (Eph. 2:2).
The god of this world system: "In whom THE GOD OF THIS WORLD hath blinded the minds of them which believe not..." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Ministers have said to me, "Satan was just lying to Jesus by saying he would give Jesus the authority over the kingdoms of the world, because Satan didn't have authority over them." But Satan did have that authority because the kingdoms of the world had been delivered over to Satan by Adam when he sinned against God.

Also, if Satan didn't have the authority over the kingdoms of this world, then the Bible is lying when it says that Jesus was tempted by the devil (Luke 4:2). If Satan had no authority and no real dominion over the kingdoms of the earth, this wouldn't have been a real temptation to Jesus. But the Bible calls it a temptation:

"And Jesus ... was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days, TEMPTED OF THE DEVIL ..." (Luke 4:1,2). Therefore, Satan did have authority and dominion on the earth because he could tempt Jesus with it.

So Satan took Adam's place of dominion and authority on the earth. But is that the end of it? Emphatically, no! God sent Jesus to the earth to redeem mankind and to restore to man his lost dominion and authority on this earth. And as man exercises the authority he has been given in Christ, he fulfills God's plan and will upon the earth.

However, until Adam's lease runs out—that is, until time as we know it comes to an end and Satan receives God's final judgment—Satan has authority to be here.  Remember in the New Testament when Jesus would enter into the synagogue, many times people who were possessed with demons would cry out, “... What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us BEFORE THE TIME?" (Matt. 8:29).

Satan knows his time on this earth is running out, and he knows his impending torment and doom are prophesied in the Book of Revelation (Rev. 20:10).

Close The Door To The Devil

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

CLOSE THE DOOR TO THE DEVIL.

Google commons

The major way believers close the door to the devil is to get their minds renewed with the Word, and by practicing the Word. Many people are trying to cast the devil out of believers, when the problem is not demonic. The believer has just never learned to renew his mind, so he keeps on thinking like he did before he was redeemed when he was under Satan's dominion. Then eventually he will start acting in line with his unredeemed thinking, and soon he'll be dominated by the devil instead of standing in his authority against him.

Actually, the "saving" or the renewing of the soul is the greatest need of the Church today—not casting devils out of believers. Since the believer's spirit is the only part of him that is born again or recreated, his soul and his body are unchanged and still have to be dealt with if he is to successfully withstand the devil's attacks.

If the believer doesn't deal with his soul and body, he will continually be opening a door to the enemy. Only the believer himself can do something about renewing his soul and bringing his body into subjection to his spirit. And this is where the believer's major "battle" is fought.

Google commons

There are many Christians who have been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit for many years, whose souls are not yet saved. Some Christians have lived and died and their souls have never been saved, and they've been tossed to and fro by the devil because of it. That's absolutely the truth! Their souls weren't renewed, restored, or made whole by the Word of God, so they couldn't stand successfully against the attacks of the devil.

Now don't misunderstand me. Just because Christians haven't renewed their minds doesn't mean they won't go to Heaven when they die. Of course they will go to Heaven because their spirits are born of God —they're children of God. But Christians who have failed to renew their minds forfeit the privilege to enter into all that belongs to them in Christ while they are here on earth. And even though they have victory over the devil in Christ, they never understand how to successfully stand in that victory because of an unrenewed mind.

The Police Help In Revival

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

PART #2 MIDWEST HEALINGS AND SALVATIONS - MARIA WOODWORTH-ETTER – “SIGNS AND WONDERS” BOOK: CHAPTER 27, Page 128-129, 1903 Iowa.

Police help
“The police force took quite an interest in bringing the afflicted in the ambulance and carrying them in on a stretchers. One man was perfectly helpless with inflammatory rheumatism. He could not move his fingers and was in great pain with fever. He was saved and healed and walked upon the platform, then walked out and down to the police station. When the officers came for him, he was gone. They laugh and took the cot and went out. Infidels and all kinds of sinners who had never before believed in God were convinced of the reality of the religion of Jesus and were converted. A doctor, one of the finest men in the city, when he saw so many of his patients healed, was converted and became an earnest worker.

Men and women of all kinds, both businessmen and others, came for healing and received the double cure. The superintendent of the Business Colleges of the Tri-Cities brought his father from a distance, who had to use an ear trumpet. He went away with his son with his hearing restored. Scores of Catholics were converted and healed. One nun who had been lame and afflicted with heart disease for fifteen years, but could get no help anywhere, was saved and perfectly cured. She came back and gave glory to God.

Some Jews, one the wife of a rabbi, came for healing. When she first came, she asked if she could not be healed without Jesus. I told her no, she could not. She said she did not want anything to do with Jesus. She was badly afflicted and had suffered much for many years. I talked some with her, and then she went away; but she came back in a few days, was saved and healed, and confessed Christ in public, praising Him for His wonderful works. Many Swedish and German people and other nationalities came. We could not understand each other, but they were healed and converted.”

In Christ

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a beautiful poem written by Watchman Nee called "In Christ."

Google commons

Outside of Christ, I am only a sinner, but in Christ, I am saved.
Outside of Christ, I am empty; in Christ, I am full. Outside of Christ, I am weak; in Christ, I am strong.
Outside of Christ, I cannot; in Christ, I am more than able.
Outside of Christ, I have been defeated; in Christ, I am already victorious.

How meaningful are the words, "in Christ."

The Gift Of Faith

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

THIS IS HOW THE GIFT OF FAITH IS MANIFESTED.

You see an object and you know that your own faith is nothing in the case. The other day I was in San Francisco. I sat on a car and saw a boy in great agony on the street. I said, "Let me get out." I rushed to where the boy was. He was in agony through cramping of the stomach. I put my hands on his stomach and prayed in the name of Jesus. The boy jumped, and stared at me with astonishment. He found himself instantly free.

The gift of faith dared in the face of everything. It is as we are in the Spirit that the Spirit of God will operate this gift anywhere and at any time.  When the Spirit of God is operating this gift within a man, He causes him to know what God is going to do. When the man with the withered hand was in the synagogue, Jesus got all the people to look to see what would happen.

The gift of faith always knows the results. He said to the man, "Stretch forth thine hand." His word had creative force. He was not living on the line of speculation. He spoke and something happened. He spake at the beginning and the world came into being. He speaks today and these things have to come to pass. He is the Son of God and came to bring us into sonship. He was the first fruit of the resurrection and He calls us to be first fruits, to be the same kind of fruit like to Himself.

There is an important point here. You cannot have the gifts by mere human desire. The Spirit of God distributes them severally as He will. God cannot trust some with the gift, but some who have a lowly, broken, contrite heart He can trust.

One day I was in a meeting where there were a lot of doctors and eminent men, and many ministers. It was at a convention, and the power of God fell on the meeting. One
humble little girl that waited at the table opened her being to the Lord and was immediately filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues. All these big men stretched their
necks and looked up to see what was happening and were saying, "Who is it?" Then they learned it was "the servant!" Nobody received but "the servant!"

These things are hidden and kept back from the wise and prudent, but the little children, the lowly ones, are the ones that receive. We cannot have faith if we have honor one of another. A man who is going on with God won't accept honor from his fellow beings. God honors the man of a broken, contrite spirit.

HOW SHALL I GET THERE? So many people want to do great things, and to be seen doing them, but the one that God will use is the one that is willing to be hidden. My Lord Jesus never said He could do things, but He did them. When the funeral procession was coming up from Nain with the widow's son carried upon the bier, He made them lay it down. He spoke the word, "Arise!" and gave the son back to the widow. He had compassion for her. And you and I will never do anything except on the line of compassion. We shall never be able to remove the cancer until we are immersed so deeply into the power of the Holy Ghost that the compassion of Christ is moving through us.

Jesus Dealt With Demons

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

JESUS DEALT WITH DEMONS.

Google commons

Jesus Himself was extremely practical in His dealings with demons. At the same time, He emphasized the unique significance of this ministry of expelling demons when He said, "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you" (Matthew 12:28).

Casting out demons demonstrated two important spiritual truths.
First, it revealed the existence of two opposing spiritual kingdoms: the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.
Second, it demonstrated the victory of God's Kingdom over Satan's. Obviously Satan would prefer to keep these two truths hidden!

When Jesus cast out demons, He went beyond the precedents of the Old Testament. From the time of Moses onward, God's prophets had performed many miracles that foreshadowed the ministry of Jesus. They had healed the sick, raised the dead, made miraculous provision for multitudes and demonstrated God's power to control the forces of nature. But there is no record that any of them had ever cast out a demon.

Google commons

This was reserved for Jesus. It was a unique demonstration that the Kingdom of God had come upon the people of His day. This makes it all the more remarkable that this ministry has been largely ignored by the contemporary Church in many parts of the world. Evangelism, especially in the West, has frequently been practiced as if demons did not exist. Let me say, as graciously as possible, that evangelism that does not include the casting out of demons is not New Testament evangelism.

I will take this a step further and apply it to the ministry of praying for the sick. It is unscriptural to pray for the sick if one is not prepared also to cast out demons. Jesus did not separate one from the other.

On the other side, there are those today who carry this practice of casting out demons to unscriptural extremes. They give the impression that any kind of problem-physical, emotional or spiritual-should be treated as demonic. But this approach is unbalanced and unscriptural. Sometimes, too, deliverance is carried out in a way that gives more prominence to the minister or to the one receiving deliverance than to the Lord Jesus.

Google commons

Personally, I see this as further evidence of Satan's special and intense opposition to the ministry of deliverance. If possible, he seeks to exclude it altogether from the Church's program. Failing that, his aim is to discredit it.

For my part, I certainly did not volunteer! As I said, I was confronted by situations in which I was forced to choose between two alternatives: taking action against the demons or backing down and giving way to them. Looking back, I am glad I chose not to back down.
