The Police Help In Revival

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

PART #2 MIDWEST HEALINGS AND SALVATIONS - MARIA WOODWORTH-ETTER – “SIGNS AND WONDERS” BOOK: CHAPTER 27, Page 128-129, 1903 Iowa.

Police help
“The police force took quite an interest in bringing the afflicted in the ambulance and carrying them in on a stretchers. One man was perfectly helpless with inflammatory rheumatism. He could not move his fingers and was in great pain with fever. He was saved and healed and walked upon the platform, then walked out and down to the police station. When the officers came for him, he was gone. They laugh and took the cot and went out. Infidels and all kinds of sinners who had never before believed in God were convinced of the reality of the religion of Jesus and were converted. A doctor, one of the finest men in the city, when he saw so many of his patients healed, was converted and became an earnest worker.

Men and women of all kinds, both businessmen and others, came for healing and received the double cure. The superintendent of the Business Colleges of the Tri-Cities brought his father from a distance, who had to use an ear trumpet. He went away with his son with his hearing restored. Scores of Catholics were converted and healed. One nun who had been lame and afflicted with heart disease for fifteen years, but could get no help anywhere, was saved and perfectly cured. She came back and gave glory to God.

Some Jews, one the wife of a rabbi, came for healing. When she first came, she asked if she could not be healed without Jesus. I told her no, she could not. She said she did not want anything to do with Jesus. She was badly afflicted and had suffered much for many years. I talked some with her, and then she went away; but she came back in a few days, was saved and healed, and confessed Christ in public, praising Him for His wonderful works. Many Swedish and German people and other nationalities came. We could not understand each other, but they were healed and converted.”

Midwest Healings And Salvations

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

MIDWEST HEALINGS AND SALVATIONS - MARIA WOODWORTH-ETTER- “SIGNS AND WONDERS” BOOK CHAPTER 27, Page 127. 1903, Moline, Iowa.

“We commenced our work in Warr Hall. The first four weeks there thirteen hundred bowed at the altar; I prayed for each with laying on hands, and nearly all were converted or reclaimed; and nearly all were healed of from one to a dozen diseases. The power was present just as it was in the days of Christ and the apostles-we do not read of any place where the work was greater – sixty at the altar for healing, at once, in the afternoon meeting. Nearly everyone got up rejoicing, showing by their testimonies that they were perfectly well. Many people in the gallery shouted or waved their hands; sometimes nearly the whole house was weeping at the wonderful miracles that were done before them all. The scenes were wonderful.

Every meeting they could hardly wait until I gave them the opportunity to come to the altar; then there would be a rush. They brought them in chairs, on cots, and on pillows; the blind, lame, deaf, dumb, and the paralytic; those dying with consumption, tumors, cancer, blood poisoning, catarrh of the stomach and lungs, or all through the blood; broken bones and everything else-all chronic diseases that could not be cured by any earthly power – they laid them at the feet of Jesus. As at Peter’s great revival, they tried to get near enough for his shadow to fall on them, so it was here-everyone tried to get the nearest me, like those at the pool of Bethesda, to get into the water first.

One after another they were healed; sometimes in an hour everyone would be up rejoicing. The people looking on saw large tumors and goiters go and cancers disappear; children got up and walked who never walked before. They saw the deaf hear, the dumb speak, those that had never heard or spoken before. They wondered and were amazed, and they gave glory for His great power and love for suffering humanity.”

“PERMANENT RESULTS” Chapter 23 of The “Signs and Wonder” book Part #2

From Anderson we went to Pendleton, Indiana, to hold meetings in the United Brethren Church for three days. A number were converted and several healed of bodily ailments.

A farmer living near Pendleton was healed in our meeting six years before (1885). He had been in the asylum 3-4 years. He would get a little better for a few days, then be worse than ever.
His friends brought him to the meeting. He was converted and healed instantly. He went home and took charge of his farm. He has been a businessman and a Christian since then. Eternity alone will tell the results of the one week’s meeting at Pendleton nine years ago and this three days’ meeting.

From Pendleton we went to Indianapolis, to visit the Church of God, which we organized nearly five years before. When we arrived at the church, we found the large building crowded. The church was all in harmony and on fire for God. We continued the meeting five days, had two meetings a day during the week and three on Sabbath.

The house was crowded day and night, and many turned away. The interest was so great we had to request the young people to stay away and give room for the older. The altar was crowded day and night with seekers—some for salvations of the soul, some for the healing of the body, and some for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The power of the Lord was present to heal both soul and body. A number of God’s children received the baptism for service.

(This was before the Azusa Street outpouring of people receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues-1891). They obeyed the command of Jesus, “Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until you shall be endued with power from on high.”

Among those converted were two men 80 years old. One had been afflicted most all his life. He was healed and converted at the same time. There never was a brighter prospect for revival in any place than at Indianapolis. But we were compelled to leave, as our appointments were out ahead.
(That’s probably why she was lead to build her Woodworth-Etter Tabernacle in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1918)

Marie Woodworth-Etter

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an interesting story about an amazing woman by an unknown author.

During the Civil War, Maria met P. H. Woodworth, who had returned home from the conflict after being discharged with a head injury. She had a whirlwind courtship with the former soldier and soon married him.  But God called Marie to preach. They took up farming, but nothing ever came of their labors. It seemed as if everything was failing.

Over the years, Maria became the mother of six children. So she tried to settle into a normal family home life while the Lord continued to call her. But Maria, exasperated in her role as a wife and mother, couldn’t answer the call. She was married to a man with no desire for ministry, she had six children to raise, and she was sickly herself.

Then real tragedy struck their home. The Woodworths lost five of their six children to disease. Maria was able to pull herself together after this horrible episode, but her husband never recovered from the loss. She did her best to help him while raising their only daughter. Through all these situations she never grew bitter against God, nor did she harden her heart as a result of the loss.

But Maria needed answers for the nagging heartache that oppressed her because of the calamity that struck her family. Refusing to give up, she began to search the Word of God. And as she read, she saw how women were repeatedly used by God throughout the Bible. She read Joel’s prophecy predicting that the Spirit of God would be poured out upon men and women. But Maria would look to heaven and say, “Lord, I can’t preach. I don’t know what to say and I don’t have any education.” Still, she continued to read and find truth in the Word of God while she struggled with her call. She would later write, “The more I investigated, the more I found to condemn me.”

Then Maria had a great vision. Angels came into her room. They took her to the West, over prairies, lakes, forests, and rivers where she saw a long, wide field of waving golden grain. As the view unfolded she began to preach and saw the grains begin to fall like sheaves. Then Jesus told her that, “just as the grain fell, so people would fall” as she preached.  Finally Maria realized that she would never be happy until she yielded to the call.  In response to this great vision from God, she humbly answered yes to His call upon her life, and asked Him to anoint her with great power.

Many women reading this book are called of God to preach. You have had visions and unction from God’s Spirit to go and set people free. God has spoken to you in the area of divine healing, deliverance, and freedom of the Spirit. So never allow a religious spirit to silence what the Lord has spoken to you. Religion likes to suppress women and their ministries, especially young ones.

You need to learn to obey God without question. If Maria had answered from her youth, possibly her children wouldn’t have died. I’m not saying that God killed her children. But I am saying that when we directly disobey God, our actions open the door to the works of the devil. His work is to destroy. God’s work is to bring life. So learn to obey God with boldness. Boldness brings the power of God and will leave your accusers speechless in your presence. Also find some strong women with solid ministries from whom you can learn. And allow these words of Sister Etter to stir you in your heart:

“My dear sister in Christ, as you hear these words may the Spirit of Christ come upon you, and make you willing to do the work the Lord has assigned to you. It is high time for women to let their lights shine; to bring out their talents that have been hidden away rusting; and use them for the glory of God, and do with their might what their hands find to do, trusting God for strength, who has said, ‘I will never leave you.’ Let us not plead weakness; God will use the weak things of the world to confound the wise. We are sons and daughters of the Most High God. Should we not honor our high calling and do all we can to save those who sit in the valley and shadow of death?

Did He not send Moses, Aaron— Miriam to be your leaders? Barak dared not meet the enemy unless Deborah led the van. The Lord raised up men, women, and children of His own choosing— Hannah, Hulda, Ana, Phoebe, Narcissus, Tryphena, Persis, Julia, the Marys and the sisters who co- labored with Paul. Is it less becoming for women to labor in Christ’s kingdom and vineyard now than it was then?”

Seek the Spirit of God for yourself. If you are called, you will have to answer for it. Obey God without question. He will handle the details.
