In this lesson, let us talk for awhile about wrong thinking, wrong believing, and wrong confessing. Then we’ll bring confession back to the positive side again before we conclude.

Wrong confession, of course, is a confession of defeat,of failure, and of the supremacy of Satan. To talk about how the devil is hindering you—how he is keeping you from success, how he is holding you in bondage, and how he is keeping you sick—is a confession of defeat. 

Such confessions as those simply glorify the devil. Confessions that glorify the devil are wrong confessions! Remember, our confession is proclaiming a truth that we’ve accepted wholeheartedly or it is declaring something we know to be true and stating something we believe.

 Testimonies that we give in church, for example, are our confessions. And sad to say, many of them glorify the devil rather than God. I remember some time ago, one woman got up in one of my meetings, and said, “The devil has been after me all week, bless his holy name.” I know she got her praise misplaced and didn’t mean to praise the devil! She meant to praise God, yet she was glorifying what the devil was doing by getting up and talking about it.

Now I want to ask you a question. When you talk about what God has done, and what Jesus has done, and is doing, aren’t you glorifying Him? Well, by the same token then, if you talk about what the devil is doing, and what he has done, you are glorifying the devil. And so many times people miss it by making the wrong confession. They lose the blessing and they are defeated, and life is a grind to them.

So a wrong confession glorifies the devil, and we don’t have any business glorifying the devil. Actually, a wrong confession is an unconscious declaration that your Father God is a failure.

And as I said, many of the testimonies and confessions we hear today glorify the devil. Such confessions simply sap the very life out of you. A wrong confession destroys your faith; it holds you in bondage. But the confession of your lips that has grown out of faith in your heart will absolutely defeat the devil in every combat.

On the other hand, the confession of Satan’s ability to hinder you and to keep you from success, gives the devil dominion over you. You see, with your mouth you are either going to give God dominion over you or you are going to give Satan dominion over you!

For example, to be saved, you had to confess the Lordship of Jesus. Romans 10:9 says, “. . . if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus [or, Jesus as Lord].. . .” That means you are to confess Him as your Lord. You are to confess Jesus’ Lordship over you. Then He begins to have dominion over you, as you give place to Him in your life.

But, you see, when you confess Satan’s ability to hinder you and to keep you from success, then even though you are a Christian, you are giving Satan dominion over you. Satan is the god of the world (2 Cor. 4:4), and he will move right in to your life if you permit him to. Now it may be a permission of ignorance or an unconscious consent, but if you give Satan dominion over you, it is still consent. And naturally, when Satan has dominion over you, then you are filled with weakness and fear!

DON'T EVER CONFESS YOUR FEARS.

Let me say it again, your confession of Satan’s ability to hinder you and to keep you from success gives Satan dominion over you. Your confession of your fear gives fear dominion over you.

ALL ABOUT SATAN.

What do the Scriptures say regarding Satan's nature and character? The biblical names given to Satan reveal his nature, character, and also show his realm of authority on this earth.

- Adversary: “... your ADVERSARY the devil...walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8).

- Thief: "The THIEF cometh...to steal, and to kill, and to destroy ..." (John 10:10).

- Murderer and liar: "Ye [the scribes and the Pharisees] are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a MURDERER from the beginning ...he is a LIAR, and the father of it" (John 8:44).

- Accuser of the brethren: “... THE ACCUSER OF OUR BRETHREN is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night" (Rev. 12:10).

- Deceiver "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which DECEIVETH the whole world ..." (Rev. 12:9).

- Angel of light: "... for Satan himself is transformed into an ANGEL OF LIGHT" (2 Cor. 11:4). As a deceiver, Satan transforms himself into an angel of light.

- The prince of this world: "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD be cast out" (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:8,11).

- Prince of the power of the air: “... in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR, THE SPIRIT that now worketh in the children of DISOBEDIENCE" (Eph. 2:2).

The god of this world system: "In whom THE GOD OF THIS WORLD hath blinded the minds of them which believe not..." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Ministers have said to me, "Satan was just lying to Jesus by saying he would give Jesus the authority over the kingdoms of the world, because Satan didn't have authority over them." But Satan did have that authority because the kingdoms of the world had been delivered over to Satan by Adam when he sinned against God.

Also, if Satan didn't have the authority over the kingdoms of this world, then the Bible is lying when it says that Jesus was tempted by the devil (Luke 4:2). If Satan had no authority and no real dominion over the kingdoms of the earth, this wouldn't have been a real temptation to Jesus. But the Bible calls it a temptation:

"And Jesus ... was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Being forty days, TEMPTED OF THE DEVIL ..." (Luke 4:1,2). Therefore, Satan did have authority and dominion on the earth because he could tempt Jesus with it.

So Satan took Adam's place of dominion and authority on the earth. But is that the end of it? Emphatically, no! God sent Jesus to the earth to redeem mankind and to restore to man his lost dominion and authority on this earth. And as man exercises the authority he has been given in Christ, he fulfills God's plan and will upon the earth.

However, until Adam's lease runs out—that is, until time as we know it comes to an end and Satan receives God's final judgment—Satan has authority to be here.  Remember in the New Testament when Jesus would enter into the synagogue, many times people who were possessed with demons would cry out, “... What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us BEFORE THE TIME?" (Matt. 8:29).

Satan knows his time on this earth is running out, and he knows his impending torment and doom are prophesied in the Book of Revelation (Rev. 20:10).

Satan's Opposition Against The Ministry.

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an interesting message from the Evangelist, Derek Prince.

Text:  John 10:10;  James 4:7.

Jesus never sent anyone out to preach the Gospel without specifically instructing and equipping that person to take action against demons in the same way that He Himself did. I can find no basis anywhere in the New Testament for an evangelistic ministry that does not include the expelling of demons. This is as true today as it was in the time of Jesus.

I soon came to realize that satan has developed a special opposition to this ministry. He is, by choice, a creature of darkness. He prefers to keep the true nature of his activities concealed. If he can keep humanity unaware of his tactics or even of his very existence he can use the twin tools of ignorance and fear to open the way for his destructive purposes.

 Unfortunately, ignorance and fear are not confined to non Christians. They are often at work inside the Church. All too often Christians have treated demons with superstitious dread, as if they are in the same category as ghosts or dragons.

A Vision of Heaven 

Our little girl Myrtle was recently taken with a severe cold and sore throat and had every symptom of scarlet fever.  During a season of prayer on Tuesday evening, December 18^th, 1906, all the family, papa, mama, Herman, and four-year-old Ruth laid our hands on her head and each one prayed for her healing. 

A wonderful spirit of song came upon us.  The Spirit sang the songs of Zion through our lips.  During this season of song, my little girl sat on a chair with her eyes closed; and when the song stopped, she said, “O papa, I have seen Jesus.”  And then she told the following vision: 

I came to a city with many streets.  There seemed to be a division in the city, there was a narrow street that separated.  On the side streets were clean and paved and the buildings were of marble and strong, and there was a car there with the words on the front, TO ZION.  On the side of the car was TO THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF GOD.  On the dirty street was a dirty car, and on the front was TO HELL.  On the side was GOING DOWN.  

After I got on the clean car, I went to the conductor and asked him if I could go over to the unclean car, and the car was stopped and I went across with others, and we took five apiece off from Satan’s car.  And when they came across the line from the unclean street to the clean, their garments and faces became clean.  And when we came to the white car, the car expanded itself to make room for all that came. 

I saw the car the devil was on, go down into a dark abyss.  Then our car stopped, and we all went over to where this car had disappeared.  Jesus spoke and a great grate of iron came and then a great stone, and stopped up the mouth of the abyss so that Satan could come out no more. 

As the car went on, I saw that everything was beautiful.  The mist rolled away.  Beautiful flowers appeared. 

When we arrived at the beautiful city of God, there were lovely homes given to us.  And after we were there long enough to get adjusted, we went to visit the Palace of the King.  I saw Jesus on a throne made of diamonds and pearls.  He was dressed in shining raiment, sparkling in every color. 

A beautiful Christmas feast was spread on tables.  The cloth on the tables and the food was beautiful.  The walls of the room and the carpet on the floor shone with beautiful colors.  I looked in the mirror and saw I was clad like an angels.  I saw my father and mother and brother and sister coming in, and their clothes were transformed like the rest. 

The molding around the room was decorated with holly,  most beautiful to behold.  Jesus called attention to me and said, “Do you see that little girl down there?”  Their eyes seemed to look clear through me.  Then He said, “This girl was very sick and had faith and I healed her.”  And all the hosts sang a most beautiful song of praise.  Then Jesus took us and showed us all around.  When we came out, He had a beautiful chariot ready to take us all back to earth.”[1]
