Charles Finney went to hold another meeting when he was a Presbyterian. He had been talking about fifteen minutes when the power of God fell on him. About four hundred people fell off their seats onto the floor, and it was a Presbyterian church! He didn't know what was happening, but he said that he found out later that they had all been sinners and had just gotten saved when they fell under the power.
Finney prayed for revival. He was a real man of prayer. He said that he had some experiences in prayer that indeed alarmed him. He added that he found himself saying to the Lord, "Lord, You don't think that we are not going to have a revival here, do You? You don't think that You could withhold Your blessings?" He found himself reminding the Lord what He had promised.
