Hello everyone. Praise the Lord!
Here is an interesting juxtaposition from an unknown source that I wanted to share.
Saul was chosen by the people.
David was chosen by God.
Absalom was chosen by himself.
Saul had a jealous heart.
David had a heart after God.
Absalom had a heart to usurp authority.
Saul wanted praise of men.
David wanted to praise God.
Absalom wanted to praise himself.
Saul was insecure.
David was confident in God.
Absalom was defiant to authority.
Saul wanted to maintain his position.
David surrendered his position knowing God would restore it if He desired.
Absalom stole his position through manipulation.
Saul died by suicide.
David died in honor.
Absalom died fleeing in rebellion.
Saul left no legacy.
David provided the legacy of Jesus.
Absolom left a legacy of dishonor.
In this world full of Sauls and Absalom's, I am choosing to be a David.
