Levels Of Prophetic Revelations

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

LEVELS OF PROPHETIC REVELATIONS

There are many levels of prophetic revelation.
Impressions
Visions
Revelation
Open Visions
Trances

The beginning levels include prophetic "impressions." These are genuine revelations. They can be extraordinarily specific and accurate when interpreted by those who are experienced and sensitive to them. However, it is on this level that our "revelations" can be affected by our own feelings, prejudices, and doctrines. I have therefore resolved not to use such expressions as "thus saith the Lord" with any revelations that come on this level.

Visions can come on the impression level, also. They are gentle and must be seen with "the eyes of our heart." These, too, can be very specific and accurate, especially when received and/or interpreted by those who are experienced. The more the "eyes of our hearts" are opened, as Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:18, the more powerful and useful these can be.

The next level of revelation is a conscious sense of the presence of the Lord, or the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which gives special illumination to our minds. This often comes when I am writing, or speaking, and it gives me much greater confidence in the importance or accuracy of what I am saying. I believe that this was probably experienced by the apostles as they wrote the New Testament epistles. This will give us great confidence, but it is still a level where we can still be influenced by our prejudices, doctrines, etc. This is why I believe, in certain matters, Paul would say that he was giving his opinion, but that he thought he had [the agreement of l the Spirit of the Lord. In general, there is much more of a need for humility than dogmatism when we deal with the prophetic.

"Open visions" occur on a higher level than impressions; they tend to give us more clarity then we may have even when we feel the conscious presence of the Lord, or the anointing. Open visions are external, and are viewed with the clarity of a movie screen. Because they cannot be controlled by us I believe that there is far less possibility of mixture in revelations that come this way.

Another higher level prophetic experience is a trance, such as Peter had when he was first instructed to go to the house of Cornelius and preach the gospel to the Gentiles for the first time, and such as Paul had when he prayed in the temple in Acts 22. Trances were a common experience of the biblical prophets. Trances are like dreaming when you are awake. Instead of just seeing a "screen" like in an open vision, you feel like you are in the movie, that you are actually there in a strange way. Trances can range from those that are rather mild, so that you are still conscience of your physical surroundings, and can even still interact with them, to those where you feel like you are literally in the place of your vision. This seems to be what Ezekiel experienced rather frequently, and what John probably experienced when he had the visions recorded in the book of Revelation.

Jennie Evans Moore

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is the amazing witness of a beautiful saint.

Jennie Evans Moore Seymour is reported as the first woman in Los Angeles to speak in tongues. Jennie left Texas and found work in Los Angeles as a servant. Later she became a cook for an influential white family and lived at 217 North Bonnie Brae Street. Jennie lived across the street and regularly attended the meetings William Seymour was holding at Richard and Ruth Asberry's home at 214 North Bonnie Brae Street. When Jennie received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, she spoke in six different languages.

Never playing the piano before, she went to the piano and began to play under the anointing while singing in tongues. She also began attending the revival meetings at 312 Azusa Street. She married Seymour on May 13, 1908. The congregation at Azusa Street continued meeting until William Seymour's death on September 28, 1922. Jennie took over the leadership of the church. She continued meetings with the faithful in her home on Bonnie Brae Street until her health deteriorated. She died on July 2, 1936.

What Is God Like?

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a great message by a great minister of the past.

Have you ever wondered what God is really like? The only perfect revelation God ever made of himself, he made in Jesus Christ, and if you will look at Him through Jesus Christ, you will know what kind of a God He is really like, for Jesus said: “He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father” (John 14:9).

Did you hear Him speak to blind Bartimaeus, the beggar? The crowd took no notice whatsoever of the beggar in their midst, till he began to cry: “Jesus, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.” The disciples said:
“Shut up, you beggar,” but Jesus said tenderly:
“Bartimaeus, receive thy sight.” THAT’S GOD!

Did you see Him moved with compassion for the restless, hungry multitude who were like sheep without a shepherd? Jesus said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now for three days, and have nothing to eat: I will not send them away
fasting, lest they faint on the way.” THAT’S GOD!

Did you see Him weeping in pity over Jerusalem? You have had an idea that God is a vindictive God and that He delights in letting a man go to Hell: but you do not know God if you think that. See his great heart of mercy overflowing with tenderness and compassion as he cries: “How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wing, and ye would not.” THAT’S GOD!

Did you hear him speak to the poor woman with the scarlet stain of sin on her soul—the woman who was taken in the very act of adultery—the harlot being dragged into His presence by her accusers? The crowd wanted to stone her, but Jesus said: “Go in peace and sin no more.” THAT’S GOD!

If you want a single word to characterize the person of God, all you will have to do is to take four letters and write them over and over again from the beginning to the end— the word, LOVE—AND THAT’S GOD!

God touched a precious young woman—her frail little body racked with pain from the pitiless disease of multiple sclerosis—a woman who had not been to church in years, who had never really served God a day of her life; so ignorant regarding spiritual things that when the power of God came upon her body, a sister-in-law, wanting to be helpful, lit a cigarette and put it in the suffering woman’s mouth, thinking it would stop the “shaking”? In tender mercy, and out of His great compassion, the Master touched that body and made it whole. My friend, THAT’S GOD!

A God who understands; a God who knows our every weakness, our every failure, our every shortcoming, our every sin—and yet He continues to love us and to pour his mercy upon us. He loves us, not because we are weak; not because of our failures; not because of our sins; but because we are His children. And He loves each one of us as though we were His only child.

Serving As A Laymen

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is a small article about the church laymen.

SERVING AS A LAY PERSON.

Don't ever get the idea that serving the Lord as a layperson is less important than being a pastor or missionary. God calls and uses people in a lay capacity as surely as He uses people called "reverend" or "doctor." In fact, there are some tasks that can be done only by laypeople. Many individuals can be reached for Christ only by fellow workers on the job or friends in the neighborhood. They would never set foot in a church or talk to a pastor, and if they're going to hear the gospel, they'll have to hear it from a layperson. Thank God for the work He has accomplished over the years through laypeople!

Nehemiah, as a layman, was perfectly suited for his calling. He could approach the people of Jerusalem as one of their peers. Unlike the priests or scribes, Nehemiah could challenge the people from an equal footing. He could stand among them as a true fellow worker and lead them by example in a uniquely effective way.

Never Judge A Ministry

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is something that I found by an unknown author that I wanted to share.

When Peter preached, 3,000 got saved.
When Stephen preached, he was killed.
Don’t judge ministry by results, but by faithfulness.

Wait a minute! When Stephen was stoned, Saul was watching and when Saul became Paul, he remembered how Stephen stand even in death when he was also stoned in Damascus. Stephen had no idea that his death (impact) was a factor of Paul's success in the ministry afterward, he had no idea that he would wrote so many epistles for the churches in Asia minor.

Lesson: Be faithful even unto the end!

Wise Advice From A Farmer's Wife

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an article from an unknown author that I wanted to share.

Wise Advice from a Farmer's Wife

Whenever you return a borrowed pie pan, make sure it's got a warm pie in it.
Invite lots of folks to supper. You can always add more water to the soup.
There's no such thing as women's work on a farm. There's just work.
Make home a happy place for the children. Everybody returns to their happy place.
Always keep a small light on in the kitchen window at night.
If your man gets his truck stuck in the field, don't go in after him. Throw him a rope and pull him out with the tractor.
Keep the kerosene lamp away from the the milk cow's leg.
It's a whole lot easier to get breakfast from a chicken than a pig.
Always pat the chickens when you take their eggs.
It's easy to clean an empty house, but hard to live in one.
All children spill milk. Learn to smile and wipe it up.
Homemade is always better than store bought.
A tongue's like a knife. The sharper it is the deeper it cuts.
A good neighbor always knows when to visit and when to leave.
A city dog wants to run out the door, but a country dog stays on the porch 'cause he's not fenced-in.
Always light birthday candles from the middle outward.
Nothin' gets the frustrations out better'n splittn' wood.
The longer the dress hem, the more trusting the husband.
Enjoy doing your children's laundry. Some day they'll be gone.
You'll never catch a runnin' chicken but if you throw seed around the back door you'll have a skillet full by supper.
Biscuits brown better with a little butter brushed on 'em.
Check your shoelaces before running to help somebody.
Visit old people who can't get out. Some day you'll be one.
The softer you talk, the closer folks will listen.
The colder the outhouse, the warmer the bed.

Sexual Temptation

Hello everyone.  Praise the Lord!

Here is an article from an unknown author that I wanted to share.

It’s springtime, the birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing, and women are wearing more revealing clothes.

But some of you guys are already married, and some of those women you’re staring at are other men’s wives.

You should remember what Jesus said about this…

[Matthew 5:27-29] You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Now if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

Jesus said to pluck out your eye if that’s what it takes not to stare.

Are you even trying not to look lustfully?

Are you avoiding that coworker that tempts you?

Do you still watch TV shows with sex scenes, or do you even watch porn?

If you can’t control yourself do you still go to certain parties or certain bars where women tend to dress provocatively?

If you continue to stare, do not make excuses for yourself, consider,

[1 Corinthians 10:13] No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Jesus explained how serious this is and that you need to take measures to control yourself in Matthew 5:27-29 because. “It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”

Consider God’s words carefully,

[Jeremiah 5:8-9] They are well-fed, lusty stallions, each neighing for his neighbor’s wife. Should I not punish them for this?” says the Lord. “Should I not avenge myself against such a nation?”

Springtime is when David saw Bathsheba, imagine how much trouble he would have avoided if the second he saw her on the roof bathing he would have said “nope”, turned around, and went back inside.

Which brings up the question, why was Bathsheba bathing in broad daylight within view of the king’s palace?

We should try not to do anything if it causes another believer to stumble.

[Romans 14:21] It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or ➡️do anything that causes your brother to stumble.⬅️

Which means women should follow God’s commands to dress modestly.

[1 Timothy 2:9] And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.

I have addressed both sides of the issue, men should work hard to control themselves and women shouldn’t go around tempting men to stare with provocative clothing. But no doubt in the comment section many of you will act as if I didn’t cover both roles men and women are commanded to take to prevent this problem.
